Summer Picnic

This summer has been full of quality family time for me, mixed in with a lot of work, and one day I decided to spend a sunny afternoon having a wonderful picnic:

I wanted to make the most of these fabulous Hamper Baskets duo* by creating a scrumptious picnic for my family. Country Baskets sells a variety of floristry supplies as well as other home accessories. I couldn't resist these adorable hamper baskets, which are cleverly designed to fit into one another, and now look great stacked upon one another in my bedroom. Today, I packed the smaller basket full of cheese scones and home-made sausage rolls, along with some cherry tomatoes, cheeses and chorizo. In the larger hamper, I baked a classic Victoria sponge, using Mary Berry's recipe (of course!)

I also had the chance to try some Ryvita in an exciting new limited edition tin, designed by Ben de Lisi.* I love the striking geometric design which looks very smart beside my kitchen window. It's a great way to store my Ryvita as I'm trying to be healthier - despite the fact that the rest of this picnic isn't very healthy at all! It's all about the balance, right?

Review: HealGel Eye

I've recently been on the hunt for a kick-ass eye cream to sort out my dark undereyes. Today, I wanted to share with you my solution - HealGel Eye:

HealGel Eye* promises to instantly lift your eyes, helping to diminish the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. The first application felt wonderful - light, soothing and my overly sensitive eyes didn't tear up or sting. Within a week, the results were incredible. My dark circles were noticeably reduced that I even stopped wearing concealer under my eyes; a huge departure from the three concealers I packed for my graduation makeup!

I normally prefer pretty packaging, but I actually think that the sleek and medical label looks neat and professional on my desk. The pump works far more effectively than a tube, as you can more easily control the amount used, especially as very little is needed. All in all, I didn't dare to expect much of a result, as I've been let down too many times before, but I was seriously impressed with the difference HealGel Eye made and will definitely be repurchasing.

OOTD: Never Tickle A Sleeping Dragon

I'm back from Greece and a rather longer than I intended break from blogging. I thought I'd throw myself back into things with a fun OOTD:

Top: Primark. Skirt: Asos. Sandals: Topshop. Earrings: Culture Vulture.

You've probably seen these tshirts floating around various blogs, but if you haven't heard yet - they are from Primark and just £6! I've since also picked up one of the 'house' tshirts, Ravenclaw, for the same price to add to my collection. Yes, I'm a Harry Potter nerd and proud! It certainly helps that these tshirts are unbelievably comfortable for lounging around the house in. Who wouldn't want to pretend they go to Hogwarts?

Today I teemed it with my 'go-to' skirt from Asos. This A-line skirt has become one of my wardrobe staples and if I'm ever stuck with what to wear, I am guaranteed to reach for this. The cut is so flattering and the scuba-style fabric keeps the look structured. I also love the pattern, which is so pretty and interesting, yet pairs with pretty much anything - including my Hogwarts tee!
